Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta,  commonly known as MOTHER TERESA, was a Roman Catholic religious sister and missionary who lived most of her life in India.  She was born in today’s Macedonia, with her family being Albanian descent originating in Kosovo.  She founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation.  She was the recipient of numerous honors including the 1979 Nobel Peace Price On March 13, 1997, she stepped down from the head of missionaries of Charity.  She died on September 5, 1997.  In 2003, she was beatified as “BLESSED TERESA OF CALCUTTA”
