The gaur is the tallest species of wild cattle

Gaur are among the largest living land animals

Gaur is the largest wild bovid alive today

   Gaur (Bos Gaurus) is the largest extant Bovine of India, native to South Asia and Southeast Asia. They are largely confined to evergreen and deciduous forests.  The western Ghats constitute of the most extensive strongholds of Gaur.  Due to their formidable size and power, Gaur has a few natural enemies.  Only the tiger and the salt water crocodile have been reported to kill a full-grown adult.  There are several cases of tigers being killed by gaur too.

The gaur is the State Animal of the State of Goa in India.
