World Trade Center in New York
City is 7 World Trade Center Building complex owned by Port Authority. World
Trade Center was build to help stimulate urban renewal in Lower Manhattan.
During the late 1940s and 1950s, economic growth was concentrated only Midtown
Manhattan. The complex was located in New York City's Financial District and
contained 13,400,000 square feet (1,240,000 m2) of office space.
“Twin Towers” featured in the
complex, it was constructed from 1968 and completed in 1971, opened on April 4,
1973, and were destroyed in the September 11 attacks of 2001. Architectural
design was given by the Port Authority to the Minoru Yamasaki as lead architect
and Emery Roth & Sons as associate architects.,
"Twin Towers", the
original 1 World Trade Center (the North Tower), at 1,368 feet (417 m), and 2
World Trade Center (the South Tower)1,362 ft (415.0 m), were the tallest
buildings in the world from 1971 to 1973 preceded the Empire State Building and
surpassed by Willis Tower.
