SAN JUANICO BRIDGE #570111

SAN JUANICO BRIDGE is part of the Pan-Philippine Highway and stretches from Samar to Leyte acroos the San Juanico Strait in the Philippines.  Construction  commenced in 1969 over San Juanico Strait from Cabalawan, Tacloban City to the municipality of Santa Rita, Samar, with completion in 1973.  Its longest length is a steel girder viaduct built on reinforced concrte piers, and its main span is of an arch-shaped truss design.  With a total length of 2.16 km. it is the longest bridge in the Philippines spanning a body o seawater.

MOUNT BANAHAW #270066

MOUNT BANAHAW (also called Banahao or Banajao) is an active volcano on Luzon Island, Philippines.  The three-peaked volcano complex is located between the province of Laguna and Quezon and is the tallest mountain in the CALABARZON (Calamba, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region dominating the landscape for miles around Banahaw is a national park and a protected area in the Philippines since 1941, and is now called Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape covering 10,901 hectares of land.  Its maximum elevation is 7,119 ft above sea level.  The summit is topped by a 1.5 by 3.5 km, and 690 ft deep crater that is breached on the southern rim believed to have been caused by the 1730 eruption.  The mountain is considered by many as a “Holy mountain” and its popular among pilgrims along with mountain climbers.

RIZAL PARK #270400

RIZAL PARK (also called LUNETA PARK) is a historical urban park located along Roxas Boulevard, City of Manila, Philippines, adjacent to the old walled city of Intramuros.  Since the Spanish Colonial Era, the Park has been a favourite leisure spot, and is frequented on Sundays and national holidays.  It is one of the major tourist attractions of the City of Manila.  Situated by Manila Bay, Luneta is also an important site in Philippine history.  The execution of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal on December 30, 1896, sparked the 1898 Philippine Revolution against the Kingdom of Spain.  The area was officially renamed Rizal Park in his honor, and the monument enshrining his remains serves as the symbolic focal point of the Park.

BARASOAIN CHURCH

Barasoain Church (also known as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish) is a Roman Catholics church built in 1630 in Malolos City, Bulacan.  Having earned the title as the Cradle of Democracy in the East, the most important religious building in the Philippines, and the site of the First Philippine Republic, the church is proverbial for its historical importance among Filipinos.  Founded by Augustinian Missionaries in 1859, the church is also renowned for its architectural design and internal adornments.  The original church was burned during the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution however, it was renovated.

TINAGO FALLS

TINAGO FALLS  is a waterfall located in a deep ravine in Barangay Ditucalan, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.  The falls plunges 240 ft high from a cliff with very cold waters cascading beautifully into a deep and calm basin-like pool which appears like a blue-colored lagoon.  Under the falls is a small cave where people can enter and listen to the rumbling waters.  The falls is one of the main tourist attractions in Iligan City.  Tinago is a Filipino term meaning "hidden" the falls being hidden in a deep ravine.

HUNDRED ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK

The HUNDRED ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK is a national park located in the city of Alaminos, in the province of Pangasinan in northern Philippines.  The island, totaling 124 at low tide and 123 at high tide, are scattered in Lingayen Gulf covering as area of 16.76 sq km.  Only three of them have been developed for tourism: Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children’s Island.  The islands are believed to be about 2,000,000 years old.  They are actually ancient corals that extend well inland, in an area previously comprising the seabed of an ancient sea.  The lowering of the sea level have exposed them to the surface.  The peculiar “mushroom-like” shapes of some of the islands were caused by the eroding action of the ocean waves
